We had a very good game and our team won

Some people throw left-handed

And others from the right,

But it doesn't really matter

When the ball is up in flight.

What really is important

Is the batter's ready stance

So he can swing and strike the ball

With just a lightning glance.

Yeeouw! Don't hit so hard!

To hit the ball a mighty crack

Is every batter's aim,

And keep it far from catching hands

If you're to win the game

The other side will always try

To stop the flying ball.

For the quick and lively player

It is not hard at all.

But he must run and he must jump

And never drop a catch

If his strong team of players

Is going to win the match.

Now Grandpa plays a lively game,

And sometimes hits the ball,

But when he has to run for base

He's not too quick at all.

So fielders often run him out,

Which makes him rather saddy.

He would like to play a better game

And do as well as Daddy

The trouble with our Grandpa is

His big fat wobbly tummy

Which stops him running quickly

(Only half the speed of Mummy).

She really is the best of players;

Catching, running, throwing,

Batting too, tremendous!

And she's fairly good at sewing.

I am ready

To find out how it should be done

And watch the expert play

You must come to Brother's Baseball Camp

Just drop in, any day.

Then you will see our Matthew,

With smile upon his face,

Strongly batting every ball

And running to First Base.
